Happy Earth Day Friends!
Today marks the 50th annual Earth Day celebration. No one could have predicted that this year's Earth Day would happen during a global pandemic. Although we physically cannot come together to celebrate today, we can still celebrate from our homes, yards, balconies and the internet!
This Earth Day is unique and special. Today gives us an opportunity to collectively reflect on how we can continue to be stewards of the Earth. I hope that you get to spend some time in or around nature today. It could be a neighborhood walk or bike ride, or even just opening a window and feeling the sun and wind on your face.
Today’s Earth Day Activity is to make a resolutions list, similar to the ones we usually make at the beginning of a new year. We know that small actions we do in our lives can help converse resources, protect the environment, improve our lives and inspire others.
What You’ll Need:
Grab some scratch paper and a pen (maybe colored pencils or markers to make it more fun and colorful).
Think about some of the easiest ways you can reduce your day-to-day impact. For example: try to incorporate one plant-based meal a week, walk or ride your bike to run an errand instead of driving your car, remove invasive plant species and plant native plants in your backyard, or make reusable bags out of old tee shirts.
The options for Earth Month Resolutions are endless! This could be a fun thing to do by yourself, with your kids, roommates, parents, or even with your friends over a hang out on Zoom!
