Handbuilt and woodfired mug with a river carved in. Porcelain clay body with wild clay from where the mug was fired. Exterior is glazed by fire and ash, carved river is glazed with celadon, interior is glazed with shino.

This is the first mug in a new series that I look forward to making more of this fall. I have an academic and professional background in watershed science and restoration, and want to tell stories of rivers and their watershed with each mug. Stay tuned!
